The 2016 Fall Day of Percussion will take place on Saturday, October 15 at Pleasant Grove High School. The event will occur concurrently with the Mt. Timpanogos Marching Band Competition.
The time slot you are choosing on the sign up form is your PERFORMANCE TIME. Each school will be allowed to begin warming up 45 minutes prior to their performance time. The event staff will direct you to which warm-up area to utilize. Your 45 minute warm up also need to include moving all equipment to the performance area.
The performance slot is 30 minutes long, with a 5 minute changeover period between groups. It is recommended that your line play for 10-12 minutes of this block, as the remaining time will be used for a personalized clinic from our Guest Clinician, Bret Kuhn. At the end of your clinic, please have plenty of support staff available to help clear the area of your gear so that the next line can setup and perform without delaying the schedule.
The day will culminate with a Masterclass and General Clinic with Bret Kuhn from 6:00-6:45 and awards will be announced at 6:45.
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place overall winners will be recognized in Division 1 (Advanced), Division 2 (Intermediate) and Division 3 (Beginning)
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place awards will be presented for each subsection (Snares, Tenors, Basses, Front Ensemble) within each division.
Bret Kuhn will provide recorded comments to each line as a whole. In addition, other local professionals will record comments for specific sub sections for each line. The comments will be distributed digitally the week following the competition.
