The Utah Spring Day of Percussion is one of the largest events hosted annually by a state chapter of the Percussive Arts Society. Each year, the event features multiple guests artists, showcase concerts from previous year large ensemble state champions, clinics for directors, terrace concerts and a robust solo/ensemble competition with over 300 entries from over 60 schools. The day concludes with a showcase concert featuring guest artists or percussion ensembles from the various Universities followed by a winners' concert/awards ceremony where the top three winners from over 20 different solo/ensemble categories are recognized, and a selection of winners from the various solo categories perform for the crowd.
The event is traditionally held the third Saturday in March, and is free to the public. Generally over 800 students attend.
